This retrospective collection produced by Tony Heilbut features Prof. Alex Bradford on organ and piano, the Bradford Singers, and various accompanists. Griffin does a good '80s a cappella job on "Old Time Moan," based on an old lining hymn, and one is reminded of how great this lady was on the unissued 1958 Specialty recording of "Move Upstairs" and a fabulous bluesy rendition of "Someday, Somewhere" recorded in 1948 for King. It's a fascinating collection by one of gospel music's legendary soloists. ~ Opal Louis Nations, Roots & Rhythm Newsletter, All Music Guide
