Like its precursor The '60s, NBC's four-hour miniseries The '70s features a soundtrack that collects some of the decade's definitive pop music moments, reflecting the lives of the story's main characters. Funk, folk, classic rock, and disco combine on the album, which includes hits like the Temptations' "Papa Was a Rolling Stone," Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff," Blondie's "Heart of Glass," the Allman Brothers' "Jessica," and Three Dog Night's "Joy to the World." Cat Stevens' "Peace Train," Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," and songs by Barry White, Jefferson Starship, Billy Preston, and Bob Marley are some of the album's other highlights. While the soundtrack doesn't dig deeply into the sounds of the decade, The '70s does provide a decent overview of some of those years' biggest hits. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
