All Music Guide Review

Michael and Soni Johnson enjoyed a little notoriety on the club and urban contemporary circuit with this early-'80s album that was kind of a mild elaboration on the George Clinton/Parliament/Funkadelic space traveler theme. The Jonzun Crew wasn't as musically or lyrically compelling as Clinton, although the single "Space Cowboy" was a Top 20 R&B hit, and "Electro Boogie Encounter" had its moments. But this was more silly/novelty material than inspired or satirical vision, and ultimately couldn't establish the band as a serious act. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
