All Music Guide Review
Soul of the 90's: Volume 1 consists of 12 songs that made the Top Ten between 1990 and 1995. Some are fun nostalgic trips, like Another Bad Creation's "Iesha," 4 PM's "Sukiyaki" and Ralph Tresvant's "Sensitivity," but some (like Marky Mark's "Good Vibrations") can be found on numerous other collections. And embarrassing tripe like Gerardo's "Rico Suave" and Color Me Badd's "I Wanna Sex You Up" is best left in the past. Like the rest of this budget-line series, the disc has nonexistent liner notes and banal cover art that has nothing to do with the music on the CD. ~ Gina Boldman, All Music Guide
