    All Music Guide Review

You're Beautiful, a Sony BMG Canada release, is specifically aimed at women, meant to motivate and inspire them with self-esteem-boosting tracks -- most of which came out in the 2000s -- like Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved," the Fray's "How to Save a Life," Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," and John Mayer's eternally sappy "Daughters." Stylistically, most of the songs fall into adult alternative category (John Legend's "Ordinary People" and Jacksoul's "Still Believe in Love" are perhaps the only exceptions, but even these ones, with their neo-soul leanings, should not offend the taste of a pop-centric listeners), but that kind of sentimental, over-production works well with the generally sentimental messages (none of which are abstract, or trying to be), and makes You're Beautiful a decent collection of songs. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
