    All Music Guide Review

While the "soul inspiration" theme is not well-defined, the pulverizing effect of these 20 ringers packs a wallop. Jackie Wilson's "I Get the Sweetest Feeling," Will Downing's "Love Supreme," Terence Trent D'Arby's "If You Let Me Stay," and Lorraine Ellison's "Stay with Me Baby" were minor hits; the rest charted prominently, with most scoring high on both the R&B and pop charts. A good overall collection for casual fans, but not nearly meaty, distinct, or rare enough for the aficionado. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
