If you didn't get enough Sounds of the Eighties through the volumes of the series dedicated to one specific year, Time Life also released a sub-series that covers a couple -- or a few -- years of the decade at once, and there's little (if any) overlap. Again, each volume takes a fairly broad swipe at mainstream hits with little concern for stylistic cohesion. Sounds of the Eighties: 1986-1989 features David Lee Roth's "Just Like Paradise," Debbie Gibson's "Only in My Dreams," Erasure's "Chains of Love," Rick Astley's "Together Forever," the Jets' "You Got It All," and Huey Lewis & the News' "Stuck with You." ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
