    This three-disc budget box set from Disky Records turns on an interesting premise, collecting songs that were huge hits, but failed to reach number one on the charts, stalling out in the second spot. Thousands of factors go into a record reaching the top of the charts, not the least of which is happenstance, and once you start listening to these discs, which include classic songs like "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" by the Animals, "Build Me Up Buttercup" by the Foundations, "Sugar and Spice" by the Searchers, and "Sloop John B." by the Beach Boys, all of that begins to drop away, and it sequences like a wonderful oldies collection. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
