The best overview of LTJ Bukem's accomplishments, Logical Progression functions three ways: as a Bukem basic-trainer, a retrospective of his Good Looking and Looking Good labels, and as a DJ mix album (though the latter occurs only on disc two). Bukem's most famous recordings ("Demon's Theme," "Music," "Horizons") appear here, as well as the Looking Good anthem "Links" by Chameleon and contributions from PFM, Peshay, Photek, and Funky Technicians. Bukem himself mixes disc two, though the relative constraints inherent in the album's nature make the mixing a bit of a disappointment -- at least compared to his volume in the Mixmag Live! series. Still, the house influences and steady rhythms make Logical Progression perhaps the best introduction to jungle for those not used to hyper-speed breakbeats. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
