All Music Guide Review

Even if this album only features a small handful of songs from Alec R. Costandinos' massive late-'70s output, Greatest Hits offers nothing but standout moments from his short-lived reign atop the disco world. Thankfully, the album offers the best moments from Costandinos' sex-minded Love & Kisses work -- "I've Found Love (Now That I Have Found You)," "How Much, How Much I Love You," and "Accidental Lover" -- as well as his more conceptual solo work: the entirety of Romeo & Juliet, his landmark album. There's a lot missing here, for sure -- particularly his massively successful contributions to the Thank God It's Friday soundtrack -- but at least this best-of avoids his latter-day efforts. In short, this is a wonderful way to investigate this producer's work without hunting far and wide for impossible-to-find vinyl records at ridiculous prices until a more comprehensive collection eventually surfaces. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
