Nicole McCloud relocated to Miami from New York City and managed to interest an investor who heard one of her shows. He provided enough money for her to do a demo, and Portrait, a Columbia label, was impressed enough to cut a debut album for her. This set included a decent duet with Timmy Thomas, but her strong, sometimes sexy delivery couldn't offset flat, derivative, routine compositions, arrangements, and productions. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
