    All Music Guide Review

While constructing another track around a sample from the movie Dune might seem like a bit of a rut, Eon clearly knew exactly what he was doing. As frenetic as "Spice" while taking a lower, moodier approach -- the bassline is pure industrial/techno doom love, for those who want it -- Fear: The Mindkiller lives up to the rasped central sample by sounding the soundtrack to a manhunt through chaotic city streets. Call it the perfect soundtrack to The Matrix almost nine years too early if one wants, because it's true. Besides the original mix, there's a "Mr. Raucous" mix, as well -- J. Saul Kane of Depth Charge, who worked with Eon on the original, handles the remixing duties here with appropriately aggressive aplomb. It's a touch less pile driving basswise, but doesn't let up at all in terms of getting one's nerves on edge. The "8 am" mix of "B Co Ol #1" fills out the single, a calmer and appropriately early-morning gentle groove with a lovely main melody. ~ Ned Raggett, All Music Guide
