DJ Tracy Young

DJ Tracy Young makes a strong and confident debut with her mix CD Inside My Head. Though labeled a trance mix, the CD does not fully break into traditional trance until more than halfway through. Prior to that moment, the CD is rich with an early techno sound and sprinkles of house music. Young includes familiar (and a bit overused) tracks like Moby's "Porcelain" and Sugarpussy's "We Like the Music." However, her mixes are smooth and track selection proper; the album reveals the slight parallels between some of today's better trance and the rave sound of the early '80s and '90s. Given the poor current state of trance, Young's efforts are respectfully noticed. Inside My Head is suggested for the trance fan seeking to move a bit from harder trance toward harder techno realms. ~ Diana Potts, All Music Guide
