Hilary Swank and Molly Smith, the two-time Oscar winning actress' production partner in 2S Films, have nabbed the rights to the best-selling book French Women Don't Get Fat. Swank will obviously produce the film and is considering starring in it, too.
The book was an international phenomenon when it was published in 2004. Written by Mireille Guiliano, the non-fiction tome offers tips and keen insight into things like how French women retain their girlish figures despite being surrounded by caloric cuisine and beverages, such as pastries and wine. It was also translated into 40 languages, demonstrating its mass appeal. 2S will develop the book into a romantic comedy for the screen. 2S is currently developing two other projects, including Falling out of Fashion and You're Not You, both of which are women-centric fare and potential starring vehicles for Swank.
