Kooky director Tim Burton has found the final and most crucial piece of the puzzle for his big budget version of the classic fairytale Alice in Wonderland. Relative newcomer and Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is in final negotiations to play the lead role in the film. Burton has been searching for the perfect Alice for several months.
The film will be shot in live action with performance-capture footage and will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D.
Wasikowska's star is on the rise. She has appeared on HBO's In Treatment and will portray a young Amelia Earhart in the upcoming biopic Amelia.
