Paramount Nixes "Heavy Metal"

Remake of magazine-inspired flick halted
Fincher, who has directed subversive films such as Zodiac and Fight Club, along with animator Tim Miller and current Heavy Metal publisher Kevin Eastman, will shop the film to other studios.
Apparently, the brass at Paramount felt the film would be too raunchy and edgy and would not appeal to a mainstream audience. While the film's content is erotic and violent, its form will also be unusual, with approximately 10 segments lensed by different directors and sewn into a single film. The project will go on the back burner until another studio swoops in and saves the day.
