Since 1993’s first Gatecrasher, its promoters gained a reputation as the premiere dance music organizers in the UK. The size of their events have waxed and waned with the popularity of dance music, moving from small clubs to full blown festivals and back. After a six-year hiatus, Gatecrasher will return this summer, riding the surging popularity of dance music with their largest event yet; a weekender taking over 20 arenas and a mammoth line-up of 220 danceable acts.
This year is billed as a 20-year celebration of acid house, but alongside 200 DJs, a handful of dance-tinged artists from other genres will also perform, such as Dizzee Rascal and New Young Pony Club. If you love dancing, this will prove a musical highlight of 2008—so grab tickets, shoes with good arch support and get plenty of rest, because this party will be jumping well past any sane person's bedtime.

* Band lists are not necessarily complete, please check the official festival page for a full lineup.
